Social Quality
Social quality refers to an activity, job, or assignment (e.g. hermit, shepherd, and scribe), which is not linked to an official designation (legal status). In practice, social quality is a broadly defined category, including social labels that do not have well-defined connections with power structures (such as court titles) and, therefore, clear notion of legal position. An individual could simultanously have social quality and legal status (e. g. a bishop sent on mission as an envoy, or a dean working as a scribe on request). A social quality can also be a non-specific reference to an individual's legal status (e. g. a reference to a bishop only as a cleric). (cf. https://ontome.net/class/698/namespace/366)
